Pink Link – Women in Business Summer Regional Conference
On 11th August, the Pink Link – Women in Business Summer Regional conference took place at Blackburn Cathedral, and it was a great opportunity for Kayleigh Scott and Kelsey Hall from Granby to catch up with contacts from within the Pink Link community.
Lancashire Business View and Pink Link have formed a new partnership which will help raise the profile of women entrepreneurs in the county. Lancashire Business View is an award-winning media organisation publishing a bi-monthly magazine, daily website, regular networking, social and educational events and the annual Red Rose Awards.
Pink Link
Pink Link consists of seven regional networks, six of which are in Lancashire. The group has compiled an online directory of women-led businesses, hosts large business conferences, masterclasses, social events and founded the Enterprise Vision Awards.
Together Lancashire Business View and Pink Link will work to discover, champion and provide opportunities for women working in Lancashire-based organisations.
The Conference
At the conference, Kayleigh and Kelsey had the chance to meet many inspiring women who shared their stories of starting out and reaching their current positions. The businesses represented at the event were diverse, ranging from jewellery makers to spirit brands, wedding organisers, print management, and financial services businesses, among others.
The conference was sponsored by Lancashire Business View, a publication that Granby strongly supports. It featured an Intellectual Property Masterclass by The IPO, which provided valuable insights into branding, trademarks, copyright, and patents. This was particularly relevant for B2B businesses in the digital world, as navigating these areas can be challenging without the right knowledge.
Another Masterclass was conducted by Ascent Academy, focusing on positive ways to transform relationships and improve communication skills with colleagues, clients, and peers.
Motivating Speakers
The conference had two guest speakers. The first was Rebecca McCann, a self-taught entrepreneur and founder of ‘Pro Blo Group’ and ‘SLEEP.London’ brands. The second speaker was Dani Wallace, known as ‘The Queen Bee’ and creator of the ‘Fly Anyway Foundation.’ Dani delivered an incredibly motivating speech and ended with a beautiful song of encouragement.
Kayleigh described the day as insightful, uplifting, and inspiring, with many new connections made. It was a successful event that provided valuable networking opportunities and knowledge-sharing for all attendees.
