Granby’s Commitment to Charity
Granby’s Commitment to Charity: A Core Part of Our Identity
At Granby, we believe that our success is not just measured by the results we deliver to our clients but also by the positive impact we make on our community. As an employee-owned business, everything we do is people-centric, and this philosophy extends to our commitment to charity and social value.
Social Value: A Natural Fit for Granby
Granby has made a steadfast commitment to delivering Social Value within all our contracts. This means that adding value to the work we do is not just a business strategy but a core part of our philosophy. We take great pride in using our experience, creativity, and technology to help clients achieve the results they need. The concept of Social Value, which aims to make public sector expenditure go further and do more, aligns perfectly with the way we work.
Since 2020, we’ve had a dedicated working group exploring and documenting how we meet the requirements of the Social Value Framework. As a caring and conscientious employer, we’ve been pleased to find that our business has been operating broadly in alignment with Social Value themes. The support of the formalised framework is welcome because our engagement with it is an ongoing workflow across all the themes, continually revealing opportunities to improve our offering. Our 2023 Social Value report
How We Meet Social Value Requirements
Ongoing Workflow: Meeting the requirements of the Social Value Framework is an ongoing process led by our working group. It involves assessing what we do, exploring what we can improve, and putting this into action – and repeat.
Communication: It’s important to communicate these aims throughout our business so that everyone is on board with the what, why, and how. This sparks a creative, can-do mindset that gets results. Plus, everyone can see – and often experience – its value.
Collaboration: As a fulfilment partner, we often occupy the space between our clients and the supply chain. It’s an active, proactive position with a lot of influence across the board. We’re committed to collaborating with the entire supply chain to achieve the best results.
Supporting Local Charities
We support charities, particularly those in our local area. Our key charities include the Blackburn Youth Zone, Speed of Sight, and Community and Business Partners. Additionally, we support other charities such as the NorthWest Deaf Village, whenever we can.
Speed of Sight

Caroline and Victoria with Speed of Sight founder, Mike Newman and John Galloway.
Granby first became aware of this incredible organisation after meeting with Mike Newman, John Galloway, and their amazing team from Speed of Sight. The Inspire 25 Club from Speed of Sight allows businesses, large and small, to support and make a difference in the lives of individuals facing life-limiting disabilities. Specifically, this passes on the gift to drive, enabling those who would otherwise be unable to experience driving to do just that, to take part in an amazing, uplifting, and inspiring driving experience. Blackburn Youth Zone
Support from local businesses and individuals is crucial to the ongoing success of Blackburn Youth Zone. In order to provide the support that young people deserve, Blackburn Youth Zone needs to raise a minimum of £1.2 million every year – 75% of this comes from fundraising, including support from local businesses. Granby people – Individual efforts
Our staff, as individuals, share this culture and many of them engage in charitable initiatives and many of them support each other’s initiatives, supporting them both emotionally and financially through sponsorship. Today, we draw attention to just three of these staff led initiatives that exemplify our people’s commitment to charity:
Declan Talbot and the Macmillan Longest Day Gold Challenge:
On Friday 28th June, Declan and three friends will attempt the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge, playing 72 holes of golf in just one day! Declan and his team are hoping to raise £1,200 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support funds. This is a personal challenge for Declan but one most of us can relate to and get behind. The team of four (Fore Fellas) willl be walking around 25 miles on the day with the first tee time set for 7am and they aim to be coming down the 72nd around 12 or so hours later. Help Declan and Macmillan Cancer Support
Lisa Widdowson and the East Lancs Hospice Big Swim:
Lisa raised money for East Lancashire Hospice by swimming a mile across the beautiful Lake Windermere. Her efforts have contributed significantly to the hospice, which provides essential care to those in need. More on East Lancs Hospice
Moh Mall and the Shin Gi Ruh Muay Thai Camp:
Moh, a Production Team Leader, is involved with Shin Gi Ruh Muay Thai Camp, an inclusive and diverse Thai Boxing club that has been working in our community for more than 20 years. Not only do they promote Muay Thai boxing as a discipline, but they also focus on building a diverse community by offering equal opportunities to ethnic minorities. They promote understanding and respect among the wider community. Shin Gi Ruh sends profits to help run an orphanage in Thailand and supports Rohingya Refugee camps in Bangladesh, clearly demonstrating their commitment to a greater cause. Collective Efforts
Our staff come together throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for various causes. From WrapUp UK to Mental Health Awareness. These collective efforts highlight our strong commitment to delivering for all our communities, both local and national.
More than just an add-on

We will continue to strive to make a positive impact, adding value to our work and supporting those in need. Our dedication to charity and social value is unwavering. We we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of many.
