Succession Planning
In the morning session, Jo and Victoria shared their experiences of Succession Planning, providing insightful knowledge to those looking to create their own exit strategies.
Jo’s Journey

Delivering a powerful message
Jo shared her own incredible journey over the past 23 years with the business. Having started with the company in 2000, Jo became a majority shareholder in 2013. Recently, she sold the business to its employees through the creation of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). This trust then purchased 100 per cent of the company’s shares.
During the event, Jo shared her growth journey, the challenges she faced, and how she made certain decisions when considering her exit strategy. Essentially, it worked because she put Granby and people at the heart of everything.
The audience was captivated and engaged during the Q&A session, and the knowledge shared was deemed invaluable.
Jo said: “Since I purchased the company in 2013, it’s been a personal ambition to build a business that is truly focused on helping both our clients and our people to thrive and grow. Granby has expanded and diversified over that period, and we have a huge range of skilled staff with different backgrounds and areas of expertise.”
Game Changer
It was clear from the session that some attendees who hadn’t considered moving to an employee-owned business before are now keen to explore the idea.

Those who attended were grateful for the the opportunity to learn from Jo and Victoria’s experiences, as they plan for their own business succession.
“Becoming employee owned will allow our team to contribute more than ever before to Granby’s and our clients’ success, and ensure we are as sustainable and innovative as we can be in the years ahead.” Jo Kimber
