Fire Marshal Training
Fire Marshal Training
Our commitment to safety throughout the business has been exemplified by employees taking a course in essential Fire Marshal training. Every business is responsible for fire marshal training.
We are constantly looking to highlight the critical importance of fire safety in our warehouse and workplace environments. Ensuring a safe working environment is not just a regulatory requirement but a moral obligation to protect our team members and assets. Fire safety measures, such as regular risk assessments, proper storage of flammable materials, and well-maintained fire suppression systems, are essential in preventing potential disasters.
Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety for Fire Marshals (RQF) qualification is designed to provide the underpinning knowledge for learners to operate safely in the workplace with regards to fire safety. It is aimed at staff who have recently been appointed, or who intend to be appointed to the role of Fire Marshal/Warden in the workplace.
Upon completion of this Fire Safety Course course, staff will have passed the following units:
- Understand the hazards and risk associated with the fire in the workplace
- Know how to use a range of fire controls
- Understand the importance of a prompt and safe evacuation of the workplace
- Know how to support individuals during an evacuation
- Develop knowledge and understanding of how fire spreads and the behaviour of humans in the event of fire
- Understand the roles of the fire marshal in the workplace
Congratulations to our new Fire Marshals
We would like to to congratulate our dedicated team members who have recently earned the Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety!
This achievement reflects their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure workplace for everyone. Their hard work and dedication to understanding fire safety principles are invaluable assets to our organization
Last month, Beki Hanslip (below), from our Client Services team, along with Shaun Brunt and Ewa Milczanowska, received certificates of qualification in the Level 2 Award in the Principles of Fire Safety. All three are now certified Fire Marshals at Granby.
What does the training include?
The training covered a wide range of topics. Most importantly, the duties of employers and employees with respect to fire safety. As well as how to conduct a fire safety inspection, fire risk assessment, and the role and function of fire wardens in the workplace.
Beki had this to say “I really enjoyed this course. There were lots of helpful, informative real-world videos to illustrate just how fire moves aroiund a building. These were extensive, dating from the sixties to the modern day, covering all types of scenario – very interesting. We had lots to learn to understand the importance of fire safety and the efficiency of escape routes around buildings and to keep others safe in a fire situation.”
Be Safe
At Granby, our first and most important core value is “BE SAFE.” We know that a safe workplace is the foundation of a productive and thriving team. By investing in our team’s safety and well-being, we are not only protecting our people but also reinforcing our strategy of prioritising people over profit.
Join us in congratulating Beki, Ewa and Shaun on their achievements and dedication to making Granby a safer place for everyone!
