Victoria Pittman, Granby’s Head of Client Services and Business Development, joined Caroline Noblett, Managing Director to attend the Community & Business Partners (CBP) Business Bootcamp event last week at Burnley FC.
Granby and CBP
Granby have been part of CBP for a while now. We believe that being part of an award winning community helps to give us the very best in business support. As members, along with CBP, we help support business across the country to start up, grow and tackle issues.
CBP is not-for-profit and work internationally, supporting global entrepreneurship alongside the Home Office to bring innovative new businesses to the UK, and provide ongoing business support for those people. Their business support is delivered by a team of over 200 successful entrepreneurs including Granby, with specialisms across the board. Within CBP, they say that whatever a business needs, they’ll have someone who’s been there and done it.
At this event, Caroline and Victoria had the opportunity to engage with business leaders from across the North West and participate in workshops on topics ranging from the Art of Delegation to eliminating workplace stress.
Positive Mindset and Business Growth
The event was compered by Rachel Haslam of Team Academy, and featured speakers such as David Hammond of ChipTech. David shared his Lancashire Scale-Up Success Story. David’s inspirational talk not only told of how a positive mindset was a major contributory factor in the growth of his business but how his business now prioritises the mental health of his workforce and sees this as key to sustained success.
Other speakers
Other speakers included Lisa Edge of GB Shared and Victoria Sedgwick of Happy Mental Health.
Lisa talked of how her business, GB Shared, county by county, across the UK, has been sharing jobs, events, spend, discounts, funding, advice, support and wider opportunities. These are to help provide a cost effective sustainable business community. Certainly food for thought. Victoria Sedgwick picked up on the Mental Health theme raised by David. Hers is a business that focuses on First Aid and Health & Safety training in the workplace.
