September 2023
As September arrives, it brings with it a sense of freshness and new beginnings. The school holidays are over, and the first hints of autumn are in the air. But for us at Granby, this particular September holds an even more special significance - it marks our first full year as an employee-owned business. We're also excited to be nominated for a UK Packaging award, which recognizes our industry's significance. Additionally, we're actively involved in our community this month through Pink Link, a platform supporting female entrepreneurs. And September's picture is of the beautiful Lancashire coastline at Morecambe Bay.
Granby Celebrate 1 year as an Employee Owned Trust
We are very happy share the news that this September, Granby celebrates its first full year as an employee-owned trust, a move made to ensure we have a sustainable, competitive, innovative and profitable business in place for the future.
This move has enabled us to deliver on our vision of a business that will add measurable value on many levels, including commercial profitability and Social Value. We have seen first-hand how it has provided a sense of ownership and empowerment to our employees, as they have a direct stake in the company’s performance and success. Overall, our first year as an employee-owned trust has been a resounding success, and we are excited to share our story with our clients, partners, and friends. If you are interested in learning more about Granby’s journey and the benefits of employee ownership, we would be delighted to have a conversation with you.
Edrington UK Summer barbecue
There are so many great things we do with clients that for commercial reasons we simply have to keep very quiet about. So, it makes a lovely change this month to shout about an amazing company barbecue sponsored by our esteemed client, Edrington UK. It was a wonderful opportunity for our teams to come together, relax, and enjoy delicious food in a casual and friendly atmosphere.
This event highlighted the importance of building strong client relationships, and the sponsorship from Edrington UK exemplifies the trust and partnership we have developed with them. We are incredibly grateful to Edrington UK for their support. They are a remarkable company with a heritage dedicated to crafting spirit brands of the highest quality such as The Macallan and The Famous Grouse. They also prioritise sustainability and responsible business practices, which aligns with our values. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event.
Pink Link Women in Business Summer Regional conference

Pink Link consists of seven regional networks, six of which are in Lancashire. The group hosts business conferences, masterclasses, social events and founded the Enterprise Vision Awards.

BYZ secures £2.9m Funds Granby are patrons of BYZ
Blackburn with Darwen Youth Zone, of which Granby is a patron, has successfully secured £2.9m million in new Government funding, which will be used to transform Blackburn’s first-ever electric power station, known as the Fusebox. The image shows Hannah Allen and Wayne Wild, both of the BYZ celebrating the new funding with Councillors Phil Riley and Julie Gunn.
The impressive project is one of four that will receive a cash injection through the Youth Investment Fund, with a total of £8m being announced for the schemes across the borough. Our patronage of BYZ is just one of many ways in which Granby integrate with our communities.
