Stepping Stones 2024 team – First Steps

Stepping Stones 2024 team – First Steps: Stepping Stones 2024 team took their first steps last month as our next generation of leaders came together for this year’s course. This time under the guiding hand of Sam Sloan of Team Academy.

We had a successful course last time around and the Granby team for this year are Ffion Kay (Trevor) ACMA, CGMA, [Finance Manager], Chloe Goss [Client Partner], Tom Barrett [Warehouse team leaders] and Matt Pawlak [Production team leader].

This first session introduced our team to the ‘GROW’ model, which is a great tool for setting and achieving goals. The GROW model is a really useful coaching framework that stands for Goal, Reality, Options, and Will. It is used to help individuals set and achieve their goals by exploring their current situation, identifying their desired outcomes, brainstorming possible actions, and committing to a plan of action. It’s a powerful tool for personal and professional development.

Chloe and Ffion both gave glowing feedback on the GROW model and also on the day as a whole.

Chloe said “I found the first session really fun! I was a bit nervous about attending the training session as my previous experiences of similar training has been that they do really awkward ‘ice breaker’ tasks, but Sam made me feel really comfortable. I am now looking forward to our next session in July!”

Ffion said ‘I found day one of the Stepping Stones course I attended very interesting and relatable to my current role. Having worked at Granby for over a year, by learning about the ‘GROW’ model and how I can apply this to my current and future goals within Granby, it will help me move forward into my next role and be a successful leader like my current mentor is’.

Ffion’s feedback really shows how beneficial the management training course was for her and her colleagues. We know how important it is for all of us, whatever our role, to continue learning and growing in our careers.
