Mental Health and WellBeing: Walking the Walk
Mental Health and WellBeing: Walking the Walk
At Granby, we believe it is crucially important for businesses to encourage their workforce to participate in healthy activities. We have seen first-hand how this can help improve not only physical, but mental wellbeing. For mental health and wellbeing we believe it is critical to be seen to be walking the walk.
Prioritising mental health
As a third-party logistics partner, we understand the significance of health and safety, especially in an environment with so many moving parts and tight timelines. And that’s why we prioritise mental health issues and well-being, recognising the impact it has on our employees. In fact, independent research among our teams showed that an impressive 87% of employees believe that Granby genuinely cares about their health and safety.
Beautiful Lancashire
And that’s another reason why, for many years now, we have put together regular walks in the beautiful Lancashire countryside for our team members and their families to enjoy.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Caroline Noblett, Managing Director, is particularly enthusiastic about this Mental Health and WellBeing: Walking the Walk initiative. Caroline recently joined a Granby walk during Mental Health Awareness Month, organised by Granby’s most recent Employee of the Year, Phil Meldrum.
Caroline shared, “The walk was a fantastic 5-mile trek around Malham, Malham Cove, and Janet’s Foss with colleagues and family members. The highlight was the amazing weather and company, focusing on well-being and enjoying the fresh air.”
The Granby Walkers – Walking The Walk
Phil was joined on the walk not only by Caroline (and her daughter Amelia) but also by Jay from the Warehouse team. There was also Lisa from Production, with her husband, Colin. They werre joined by Tommy & Ella, also part of our Production team. The next walk on the Tolkien Trail is already being planned – we’ll let you know how that goes.
There were lots of great pictures taken. We feel this one of our walk leader, Phil, communing with nature summed the day up beautifully.
