Walking the Walk with Clients
Walking the Walk with Clients: A Journey to Scotland
At Granby, we believe in the power of personal connections and shared values to foster strong business relationships. Recently, our team, including Victoria Pittman (Head of Client Services and Business Development), Caroline Noblett (Managing Director), and Kayleigh Scott (Client Services Manager), embarked on a journey to Scotland to meet with Helen Connolly from our client, Edrington UK. Whilst this was a day for business it was also one for reinforcing our commitment to walking the walk with our clients.
Strengthening Bonds
Our relationship with Edrington UK is built on mutual respect and shared values. Known for their exceptional spirit brands like The Macallan, Edrington UK is a company that aligns perfectly with our ethos. Their dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices mirrors our own commitment to social values and wellbeing initiatives. We cherish our regular site meetings, including the much-anticipated annual barbecue, which have become a tradition that strengthens our bond.
A Shared Commitment to Wellbeing
Like Granby, Edrington UK places a strategic emphasis on wellbeing, recognising its impact on engagement, motivation, and productivity. Their Wellbeing framework fosters an open and inclusive culture, encouraging employees to be themselves, build supportive networks, and learn new things. At Granby, we share this commitment. We believe that prioritising mental health and encouraging activities like walking in nature are crucial for improving both physical and mental wellbeing
Exploring the Beauty of Scotland
On our walk and talk, our team, along with Helen, took the opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes of the Loch Lomond region. This experience not only reinforced our connection with Edrington UK but also highlighted the importance of taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Conic Hill
It was a glorious day, perfect for getting out and about. And a wonderful way to unwind after days of inclement weather. Conic Hill sits near the village of Balmaha, and this sharp little summit is perched right on the Highland Boundary Fault, providing a unique geological perspective. The walk up Conic Hill is relatively short but rewarding. Offering beathtaking, panoramic views that stretch across Loch Lomond and its many islands.
On a clear day, the vista is nothing short of spectacular, showcasing the natural beauty of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands. Loch Lomond itself, the largest freshwater loch in Scotland, is renowned for its serene waters and picturesque surroundings. It has to be the perfect backdrop for a reflective walk and talk. Whether an experienced walker or an occasional one, the journey to Conic Hill is an invigorating experience that combines physical activity with the tranquillity of nature.
Walking and Talking: A Holistic Approach to Wellbeing
Walking is one of the most accessible forms of physical activity, offering numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. It improves cardiovascular health, aids in weight management, and enhances endurance. Moreover, walking is known to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is thanks to the release of endorphins, stress reduction, improved sleep, and opportunities for social interaction. Combining walking with talking adds a social dimension, reducing isolation, providing emotional release, and strengthening support networks. At Granby, we encourage walking and talking as a holistic approach to wellbeing, fostering mindfulness and deeper connections.
Special Day
Our visit to Scotland was a special reminder of the power of personal connections and shared experiences.
Victoria left us with this thought “Spending the day with Helen was wonderful! We had some great conversations, and it is fantastic how aligned Edrington UK and Granby are on our values. The walk up Conic Hill was the perfect way to spend the day. Nothing can beat those views over Loch Lomond!”
Here’s to strengthening partnerships and embracing shared values – especially in breathtaking settings!
