Granby are now a Lancashire Skills Pledge Member
What is the Lancashire Skills Pledge?

What is a pledge?
Through the Lancashire Skills Pledge, employers are encouraged to commit to investing in the skills of their workforce by offering apprenticeships, work placements, and training programs. This not only benefits the individuals by enhancing their employability but also helps businesses to develop a skilled and productive workforce.
As part of our commitment, we have already signed up for two pledges: work experience and industry placements and taking on apprentices.
But we’re not stopping there! We are actively working towards two more pledges: becoming an apprenticeship ambassador and recruiting Lancashire people.
Granby next steps
Once we achieve all four pledges, we will engage with the remaining four, which include being an enterprise advisor, upscaling our workforce, helping young people get work ready, and offering placements to university students. Be assured, the Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) ensures that participating businesses meet the highest standards.
Working with the community
The initiative also works closely with educational institutions to align their curriculum with the needs of the local job market. This ensures that students are equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge required by employers in Lancashire.

A collaborative effort
Overall, the Lancashire Skills Pledge is a collaborative effort to boost the skills and employment prospects of individuals in Lancashire, ultimately contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of the region. It should be remembered that this is a commitment, a pledge. And as such Lancashire Enterprise Hub, who run the program, have a thorough process to ensure standards are met by participating businesses.
Caroline Noblett, Director of People and Finance, says “Granby want to seize this opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and contribute to the growth and success of our region.”
