August 2024
We have had an exciting few weeks here at Granby and are thrilled to share our latest news. First, we warmly welcome Owen Harris to the Granby team. Owen will lead our Business Development efforts, reporting to Victoria Pittman and collaborating closely with Kayleigh Scott and the Client Services team. Looking at the broader Granby community, we welcomed the East Lancashire Hospice to Granby. They received a cheque from Lisa Widdowson, who completed an impressive swim in the Lakes to raise much-needed funds. We hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer. This month our background shot is of beach huts at sunsert on the beautiful Lancashire coast.
New Business Development Executive Owen Harris
Granby is thrilled to announce the addition of Owen Harris to our team as our new Business Development Executive. Owen brings a wealth of experience in client facing roles along with an enthusiasm and a passion for people that aligns perfectly with Granby’s culture.
Granby has always prided itself on putting people at the heart of our business. This approach is not just a corporate mantra but a lived experience that resonates deeply with Owen.
Owen is very much focused on business growth wherever he has worked and is eager to bring that experience to Granby. This proactive attitude is just one of the many reasons he was recruited, and we’re glad to have him on board.
Lisa and Granby supporting East Lancs Hospice
We are incredibly proud to share that Lisa Widdowson from Granby’s Operations team has raised a superb £522 for the East Lancashire Hospice after her incredible achievement in the Great North swim. Lisa swam a mile across the beautiful Lake Windermere to raise money for the hospice. Her dedication and commitment to such a worthy cause is admirable.
Unexpected Crossovers University Studies to Professional Passions
At Granby, we occasionally find that our university studies, and our personal passions can intersect with our professional lives in the most unexpected ways. Certainly, some of the football fans amongst us have been fortunate enough to have been hosted for business meetings at Turf Moor and Ewood Park. But now and again the crossover is a complete surprise. This was beautifully illustrated during Niamh Powton’s visit to our client, the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO), last week in Taunton, Somerset.
Celebrating Kids Art Week
We were very pleased to join in the celebration of Children’s Art Week, a UK-wide programme dedicated to widening access to art for everyone. This year, a theme was “Connecting Across Generations,” and here we share some wonderful entries from the children of our Granby team members showing their parents at work. Amelia has beautifully captured her mummy, Caroline Noblett, hard at work on her computer. Sara has depicted her mum, Ewelina, diligently working as a production operative on the packing line. And Minsa has shown us a glimpse into the work of her mum, Saira, who clearly spends a lot of time on the phone! We are so proud of all our young Granby artists.
