Exploring Our All-Electric Fleet

A Commitment to Sustainability and Efficiency

Exploring Our All-Electric Fleet: In our ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, we are proud to introduce our all-electric fleet. This innovative collection of equipment not only enhances our operational capabilities but also aligns with our environmental goals by reducing emissions and promoting cleaner energy use.

Dave Saunders

Dave Saunders, Head of Warehousing and Site Services, says “”Our all-electric fleet represents a significant step forward. Not only do these machines enhance our operational efficiency, but they also reflect our commitment to sustainability. By reducing our carbon footprint and minimising noise pollution, we are creating a better environment for our employees and the community. This investment in electric technology demonstrates our dedication to innovation and responsible business practices.”

Why not Diesel?

In a modern, innovative warehouse, diesel-operated forklifts are increasingly seen as less desirable due to several key factors.

Firstly, they emit exhaust fumes, which can compromise air quality and create an unhealthy working environment, especially in enclosed spaces. This is a significant concern for a business lek Granby which is all about prioritising employee health and safety.

Additionally, diesel forklifts tend to be noisier, contributing to a more disruptive and less pleasant workplace atmosphere for our great warehouse and logistics operatives.

From an environmental perspective, diesel engines sadly do contribute to carbon emissions, which is at odds with the growing emphasis on sustainability and reducing carbon footprints in contemporary business practices. And certainly at odds with our Carbon Reduction plans.

Furthermore, the maintenance and operational costs of diesel forklifts can be higher over time. This is mainly because they require a deal of regular servicing and incur fuel expenses. Ultimately, they’re just not as cost-effective as our new electric counterparts. By transitioning to electric forklifts, we can enhance operational efficiency. We can also align with eco-friendly initiatives, and foster a more comfortable and safe working environment.

Let’s take an in-depth look at each piece of equipment, exploring our all-electric fleet and highlighting their unique features and contributions to our operations.

The Electric Hako Sweepmaster is an indispensable asset in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness across our facilities. This machine is specifically designed to efficiently clean all aisles and areas, ensuring a tidy environment that meets our high standards of hygiene and safety. Its electric powertrain not only reduces noise pollution but also eliminates emissions, making it an eco-friendly choice for our cleaning operations.

Jason Walsh, Granby Warehouse Supervisor

“Our Electric Hako Sweepmaster is a game-changer for maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in our warehouse. Its ability to swiftly navigate through aisles and tight spaces ensures that our facility remains spotless, contributing to a safer and more organised work environment.”  Jason Walsh, Warehouse Supervisor

Electric Reach Trucks

Our fleet includes two Electric Reach Trucks, engineered to handle pallets with precision and ease. These trucks are particularly adept at managing “Double Deep” racking locations, reaching heights of up to 7 metres. This capability is crucial for optimising our storage solutions and maximising warehouse space. The electric reach trucks are equipped with advanced safety features and ergonomic designs, ensuring both operator comfort and operational safety.

Electric Counterbalance 4-Wheel Trucks

We have three Electric Counterbalance 4-Wheel Trucks that play a vital role in our external loading and unloading processes. These trucks are essential for transporting pallets between buildings, facilitating smooth and efficient logistics operations. Their robust design and electric power ensure reliable performance while minimising environmental impact. The 4-wheel configuration provides stability and manoeuvrability, making them ideal for handling heavy loads in various conditions.

Electric Counterbalance 3-Wheel Truck

Completing our fleet is the Electric Counterbalance 3-Wheel Truck, which is perfectly suited for internal pallet movements and block stacking. Its compact design allows for easy navigation in tight spaces, making it an excellent choice for indoor operations. The 3-wheel configuration offers enhanced agility, while the electric motor provides a quiet and emission-free operation, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency

By investing in this all-electric fleet, we are taking significant steps towards reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing our operational efficiency. Each piece of equipment is carefully selected to meet our specific needs while supporting our broader environmental goals. We are excited to continue exploring innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future.
