May 2025 roundup

It’s been a busy month for us at Granby as we’ve taken on a range of judging roles and attended many insightful networking events. Read more about what we got up to this month!

Making Pharmaceuticals and Distributing Pharmaceuticals 2025

Making Pharmaceuticals and Distributing Pharmaceuticals May 2025

Owen Harris recently attended an event in Coventry covering the making and distribution of pharmaceuticals. The event featured a range of workshops and talks hosted by industry professionals.

Granby’s extensive storage and distribution experience in the pharmaceutical industry is complemented by our ISO13485 certification, reinforcing our dedication to industry best practice. The ISO13485 standard is reviewed every five years to ensure it meets and exceeds industry standards. We are committed to ensuring that all pharmaceuticals meet all regulatory requirements in the supply chain.

Owen enjoyed attending the event as he was able to network with other businesses and gain further insights from industry experts. The event was particularly valuable for finding out more about the supply chain adjustments expected by 2035. Granby is dedicated to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to compliance and the distribution of pharmaceuticals.

Owen also had the pleasure of meeting up with Emma Verkaik, CEO of the BCMPA, The Association of Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment & Logistics. Granby is a proud member of the BCMPA.

Internet Retailing Expo 2025

Internet Retailing Expo May 2025

Owen had the pleasure of visiting the NEC in Birmingham for the Internet Retailing Expo 2025, which focused on the future of eCommerce.

Here’s what Owen had to say about the event…

“It was great to gain industry insight on how returns logistics can significantly impact brand perception and customer loyalty, as well as the ever-changing landscape of the eCommerce sector currently being revolutionised through AI.”

The IRX prides itself on being the go-to for retailers and brands that want to innovate and scale their businesses. The event hosted over 3,500 industry professionals, with over 150 guest speakers.

This year, the focus was on the future of eCommerce and reverse logistics. Granby has a strong track record in the eCommerce sector, partnering with brands to deliver solutions across storage, fulfilment, reverse logistics, and more, helping them adapt to evolving consumer behaviours.

UK consumers purchased approximately £130 billion worth of non-food items online last year, and £27 billion of these goods were returned. This equates to around 1 in every 5 items being sent back to retailers.

Without a strong reverse logistics solution in place, businesses can quickly end up falling behind. We support brands to reach their full potential in the retailing landscape. Find out more about our reverse logistics support.

Lancashire Mind Roadshow Visit

Lancashire Mind Roadshow Granby May 2025

The 12th – 18th May marked Mental Health Awareness Week, and we are proud to have sponsored Lancashire Mind at their roadshow event, which also highlights 25 years of the charity. On Wednesday, the 14th of May, Lancashire Mind headed over to our Granby site to share mental health resources with our team.

As part of the visit, there were plenty of snacks and healthy treats, and we even got to meet the Lancashire Mind mascot, Sunny the Bear! The team hosted a range of fun activities focusing on the five ways to achieve well-being.

The visit was extremely insightful and gave us the opportunity to step back and appreciate how important positive well-being is.

We are proud to have sponsored this event and to work alongside Lancashire Mind. This partnership has allowed us to build awareness around mental health and reinforce our commitment to employee well-being.

Here’s what our Head of People & Finance, Charlotte, had to say about the event…

“We are delighted to have been a joint sponsor of the first-ever Lancashire Mind Roadshow, raising awareness and encouraging conversations during Mental Health Awareness Week. At Granby, we are proud that our sponsorship enabled Lancashire Mind to visit schools, communities, local high streets, and hubs across the county.

We thoroughly enjoyed coming together to choose our favourite songs, play football, skip, hula hoop, and start important conversations in the sunshine. It was a fantastic afternoon, cementing how we recognise the importance of an open and compassionate culture at Granby, while showcasing a brilliant local charity and all the great services available to the people of Lancashire.”

We all want to say a huge thank you to the team at Lancashire Mind for visiting our site and providing us with valuable knowledge.

It’s been an amazing month for us at Granby, and we’re looking forward to seeing what June has in store for us!
