A summer internship at Granby
We’re delighted to share the news of our summer internship student for 2025.
As you may remember, a few months ago, we did some work with Blackburn College. This involved creating a live case study project for the students to complete.
After taking the time to research and identify marketing opportunities thoroughly, the students were asked to present their ideas to our panel of judges, which included Caroline Noblett (Managing Director), Victoria Pittman (Head of Business Growth) and Owen Harris (Business Growth Partner).
The panel conducted a thorough evaluation, ensuring each group met the established criteria. After careful deliberation, a winning team was selected and offered a range of exciting opportunities.
Securing the internship
The winning team, consisting of 3 talented students, were each offered the opportunity of 30 hours of work experience to complement their course requirements. This opportunity will enable them to develop key professional skills while fulfilling an essential component of their course through practical, hands-on experience. Additionally, all three students were invited for interviews to secure a summer internship at Granby.
We conducted interviews with the three candidates, providing them with deeper insight into the expectations and standards they will encounter when applying for roles upon completing their course. This practical experience was particularly valuable, as it aligns directly with their career aspirations in the fields of business and marketing.
We are delighted to announce that Abdul-Hakeem Mahmood was successful in securing a summer internship with us at Granby. Abdul started working with Granby on 7th July, with his internship running for seven weeks, over the summer period.
During this time, Abdul will work closely with our marketing and business growth team, gaining hands-on experience and further developing his knowledge and skills. This opportunity will enable Abdul to utilise the techniques he has acquired during his college studies in real-world marketing and business scenarios, providing a strong foundation for his future career.
What will a typical day look like on the internship?
While completing the summer internship with us, Abdul will be involved in several aspects of the company, allowing him to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and the work that Granby does.
Learning our business and industry
We will take the time to help Abdul learn more about industry trends and developments, and how we apply these to our work at Granby.
Understanding business and marketing strategy
During his studies, Abdul will have developed a great understanding of the theory behind business and marketing strategies, but by working with us, he can apply the learned theories to real-life situations. Working with us will enable him to build confidence and enhance his learning.
Reviewing and supporting with marketing content
Abdul will support our team with the coordination of marketing content, such as social media posts, website articles and other content material.
Reviewing and supporting SEO content and much more
Abdul will support us with SEO content on our website and social media. He will have the opportunity to identify relevant keywords and how they can be used to support our SEO.
