Showing our support for the students at Blackburn College
We’re pleased to share that we continue to extend our support to the students of Blackburn College.
Our support is driven by a live case study project specific to their business and marketing students. This initiative provides an excellent learning experience for their learners, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and develop practical skills.
By working alongside Blackburn College, we can ensure that the training they provide meets the latest industry standards and reflects what businesses are seeking from candidates.
What’s involved?
The students were briefed on the case study and given a deadline to work towards. During the process, the students were expected to complete in-depth research, create business and marketing plans and create an engaging presentation.
We believe that this process has enabled the students to learn some extremely valuable lessons that will stick with them throughout their careers.
Time management: Helping students build essential habits such as prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines directly translates into greater efficiency, reliability, and success in the workplace.
Research skills: Taking the time to find valuable information and ensuring that it is cited correctly is important. The project has enabled the students to continue strengthening these skills.
Presentation skills: Being able to present information in front of an audience can be daunting, but by practising the skill, the students are being prepared for job interviews and future presentations.
As part of the case study, Caroline Nobblet, Victoria Pittman, and Owen Harris attended Blackburn College to listen to the students share their ideas and presentations.
As a result of some of the amazing work produced, we are pleased to share that some of the students who took part in this case study will now be attending Granby as part of their work experience. This experience will enable them to further enhance their knowledge within the business and marketing sector. This also gives Granby the opportunity to showcase the wonderful world of fulfilment and logistics, providing a taste of the incredible roles that are available within our industry

Blackburn College is a great place for young people and adults to learn. They provide a range of courses and can support people with apprenticeships. They pride themselves on their excellent pass rates and support for their students. The college works alongside a number of other educational institutions, including the University of Central Lancashire and Lancaster University.
